ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The mood at practice is one of excitement and anticipation, as UCF Baseball preseason activities are in full swing. After nearly one month of individual workouts, the squad began its team practices back on Sept. 28.
Knight's new head coach Greg Lovelady and staff are starting to get a feel for the players and evaluating what work needs to be done in order to prepare for the season. Lovelady has been pleased with the response from the players, especially in terms of accepting new team concepts and a new way of doing things.
"I'm very grateful for the kids," Lovelady said. "They have really bought in and brought a lot of energy.. ..which has made the transition easier for everyone."
Team workouts and intrasquad scrimmages will continue through the end of the month leading up to the annual Black and Gold World Series. The series is currently slated to take place Nov. 3-5 at the UCF Baseball Complex.
