Hervey's Honor

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -  Following outstanding performances against USF and Memphis senior Jalé Hervey was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

"Jalé was able to take advantage of some great matchups this weekend," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "There were times that she put the team on her back in critical situations. We simply would not have won the way we did without her performance."

On the week, Hervey recorded 37 kills, 17 digs and hit at a .394 clip. The Huntsville, Ala., native averaged 6.17 kills per set, along with 2.83 digs per set.

Against USF, she helped the Knights capture the first three points of the War On I-4 rivalry. Hervey led the team with 19 kills, hitting .308, and also tallied seven digs in the match.

Hervey posted another stellar performance against Memphis on Friday. Hervey finished the match with 18 kills, hitting .500. The senior also registered 10 digs for her team-leading seventh double-double of the year.

Hervey collected the second league honor of her career. She also was named Offensive Player of the Week in 2014.
