ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—UCF Volleyball continued its winning ways as they posted a 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-17) victory over Memphis in the second conference match of the season. The Knights currently holds a 12-3 record and are off to their best start since 2009.
"I have to give a lot of credit to our serve and receive game," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "(Serve and receive) really allowed us to set from antenna to antenna and we were able to get the middles involved, which we have been trying to do for weeks. I thought that April (Memphis head coach) made some really nice adjustments in later sets to try to slow us down."
The Knights jumped out to an early 8-3 lead, forcing the Tigers to use their first timeout. UCF continued the momentum and took the first. The Black and Gold trailed the first part of the second set before Kia Bright aced the Tigers to put UCF up 12-11. The Knights went on a 13-8 run to claim the second set. UCF never lost the lead in the third, though the score was tied four times. The Knights clinched the match with a Farah Rajaee ace.
