ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Feeling fully rested after a bye weekend, the UCF cross country team returns to action on Saturday at the Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville.

The Knights return to the Mark Bostick Golf Course for the annual race, which is slated for an 8:30 a.m. start. UCF will join 28 female squads, including Florida State, USF, Miami and host Florida. Last season the Black and Gold posted a sixth place finish, paced by Holly Wooley's 10th place finish.

UCF posted a strong start to the season, capturing the team titles at both the Big Wave Invitational and the UNF Invitational. Two weeks ago, the Knights moved into the regional rankings for the first time since Sept. 14, 2015. The Black and Gold held the No. 13 slot the USTFCCCA South Region.

Redshirt senior Anne-Marie Blaney has been the top finisher in both meets, winning the UNF Invitational and taking second in Hawaii. Redshirt junior Holly Wooley and junior Rosie Chamberlain have a pair of top 10 finishes each in the first two meets.

Redshirt junior Marissa Codispodi and freshmen Brittany Gill, Shiree Hinds and Victoria Jung have all made their UCF debut this season and contributed to the team titles.

Live results will be available for the five kilometer race.
