ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – UCF head football coach Scott Frost talked about the upcoming game with FIU, what exactly the "it" factor is for a quarterback and got praise from 96.9 The Game host and Orlando Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi Thursday.
Frost opened his day with an appearance on the Open Mike program on 96.9 The Game (the flagship radio station for the Knights), speaking with Bianchi.
Bianchi spent a great deal of time talking with Frost about true freshman quarterback McKenzie Milton, who started last week against Maryland and is slated to be the starting signal-caller this week at FIU. Bianchi and Frost discussed what the "it" factor is for a quarterback. While they were discussing true freshmen, Bianchi thanked Coach Frost for allowing all his players, including first-year players, to speak with the media.
"If we're going to count on those guys to win us football games and to be the guys out there representing us … that's harder to do than talk to the media," Frost said. "If we're going to be playing with them, they need to grow up and grow up fast. Any experience they have that can help them down the road, I think is valuable."

Following Thursday's practice, Frost met with the media. He said the Knights' preparation for FIU should have them prepared for Saturday night's road test in south Florida.
"It was a great week of practice," Frost said. "Our guys are understanding what we want now. They're practicing the way we want to. I thought we had good detail with practice this week. I can see this team ascending and that's what we need to keep doing."
Frost said he fully expects FIU, which is still searching for its first victory of the season, to bring a great deal of intensity to the in-state matchup.
"I watched the Indiana(-FIU) game … I thought they looked good," Frost said of the Golden Panthers. "They're struggling a little bit, like we are, to get over the hump. You've got to give them credit for playing hard, playing passionate. I think their defense really runs to the football and hits. We're expecting to have a fight on our hands Saturday and we look forward to it."
