ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)--
UCF Volleyball defeated Central Arkansas 3-1 (17-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-16) in their second match of the Holiday Inn Orlando East UCF Area Challenge.

"What I thought was really interesting about today was that we struggled in areas of the game tonight that we excelled in this morning, and vice versa," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "I think that shows the resiliency of the team, to be able to come back and perform well in some areas that could have cost them the match. I thought there was some times there that Central Arkansas really pressed us hard, I thought that we took the punch and responded back."

The Sugar Bears jumped out to an early 7-2 lead. UCA held the lead kept at least a four-point lead at all times to take the first. UCF started the second set with 10-4 run and never let Central Arkansas come within more than seven points to take the set. The Knights held the momentum and kept the lead until the Sugar Bears closed the gap and tied the match at 23. A Jalé Hervey kill and service ace won the set for UCF. The first few points of the second set were back and forth, before the Knights took advantage of a Farah Rajaee ace and used that momentum to build up a lead. The Black and Gold had a 10-point lead at 22-12, but went on a 4-3 run to clinch the match.
