ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – UCF head football coach Scott Frost talked about this week's game with Maryland – and touched on a few other topics as well – Thursday.
The Knights' head man opened his morning with an appearance on the Open Mike program on 96.9 The Game, talking with Mike Bianchi -- or Bianchs, as Frost has nicknamed him -- of the Orlando Sentinel.
The Open Mike crew's daily list today was cars they would like to see brought back, which prompted Bianchi to ask Frost about his first car, which was a 1979 Ford Thunderbird. The conversation later turned toward this week's game with Maryland as the Big Ten opponent visits Bright House Networks Stadium.
"They're another good team," Frost told Bianchi. "It's a Big Ten team. I think D.J. Durkin's done a good job, obviously, since he's been there. They look a lot better than they did last season and that's what good coaching will do. They're very aggressive on defense and they come to hit. Offensively, they're in some ways similar to us. They're a big team. They're going to have a bit of a size advantage over us. We're going to have to come ready to hit again."

Following the final practice of the week – the Knights will hold a walk-through on Friday – Frost was available to the media. Among the questions he fielded was a how much a full, loud, boisterous Family Weekend crowd at Bright House Networks Stadium can help the team.
"I think we have good support from our students and fans," Frost said. "That's their job and ours. When we're winning games and playing well, people are going to want to show up. But we need them there to support us for a lot of reasons. I think we're moving in the right direction with that and I can't wait to see what the stadium looks like Saturday."

Indeed, UCF is "moving in the right direction" when discussing fan support for this weekend's game. At last report, there were fewer than 3,000 tickets remaining and they were going fast. Fans are encouraged to visit UCFKnights.com or call 407.UCF.1000 (407.823.1000) to secure seats.
