ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—UCF Volleyball defeated Seattle University 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-23) to finish second in the Holiday Inn Orlando East UCF Area Classic on Sunday afternoon.

"If you were to tell me that we were going to be able to eek out a 3-0 win on this one (Seattle), I would've been ecstatic and I would've thought you were nuts," said head coach Todd Dagenais. "I didn't think that such a quality team would be a team that we would be able to beat 3-0. I thought all along that we had the ability to beat them, so this is a high quality win for us."

The teams started strong as they battled back and forth tying the score five times in the first set. The Knights tied the set at 23, before the Redhawks had two attacking errors. UCF and SU continued the battle through the beginning of the second set. The Black and Gold took the lead at 8-7 and never looked back, claiming the set 25-18. Following the 10-minute intermission, the Knights and Redhawks continued to battle.  UCF and SU tied the score five different times, and had two different lead changes in the third. The Knights went up 22-18, the Redhawks won the next two points. The teams continued to trade off points before UCF won the match on a Jalé Hervey kill.
