JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – For the second straight week, the UCF cross country team had a dominant outing. The Knights captured the title at the UNF Invitational at the UNF Golf Course on Saturday morning.
Redshirt senior Anne-Marie Blaney led the way with a winning time of 10:16.14. The Ocala, Fla., native earned the individual title in the 3k race, finishing more than six seconds ahead of second place.
Redshirt junior Holly Wooley gave the Knights a second top-five finish. The Palm Bay, Fla., native crossed the line in 10:31.49 for third place. Junior Rosie Chamberlain added to the top 10 finishes, placing sixth with a time of 10:40.68.
Redshirt junior Marissa Codispodi finished in 11:02.20 to finish 17th overall, while freshman Brittany Gill placed 23rd with a time of 11:14.43.
Junior Kalleigh Forrester posted a time of 11:31.40 to hold the edge for 32nd place. Freshman Shiree Hinds crossed the line in 11:50.74. Junior Ashton McMurray posted a final time of 12:02.83, while junior Laura Korsmit rounded out the UCF competitors with a time of 12:08.45.
The Knights return to action on Sept. 24. UCF heads to Gainesville for the annual Mountain Dew Invitational.
