New Era, New Experiences

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)—UCF welcomes a special guest to kick off the 2016 season. With a new staff, new video board, new uniforms, let's check out what else is new that is happening around Bright House Networks Stadium.

UCF knights welcome special guest Chad Leventhal and his family from Lake Worth, Fla. Chad is battling childhood cancer and has had more than 40 rounds of chemotherapy. Last year he had a baseball size tumor removed from his brain. Earlier this summer, the football team made a private video showing their support and encouragement in his battle.

Leventhal is a born and raised Knights fan due to both of his parents being graduates. Saturday, he will get to take the field for the coin toss.

Saturday will bring a lot of new experiences to game day at Bright House Networks Stadium. For the first time since 1984 UCF will wear all white at home. Along with the new white uniforms, the Knights now have four different helmets, jerseys and pants to create 64 combinations.

Prior to the game, fans can come out to IOA Plaza for the Tailgate Concert Series presented by FM 96.9 The Game and iHeartRadio. Gin Blossoms will open the series at approximately 5 p.m. A new experience for Carl Black & Gold Cabana season ticket holders is complimentary 4 Rivers Smokehouse grub as well.
