UCF transfer Terrell Allen looks to improve his strength and basketball skills during his redshirt season, so he can be a playmaker and leader for the Knights in 2017-18. Allen must sit out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but he will have three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2017.
The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 9.8 points, 3.5 assists and three rebounds during his freshman campaign with the Dragons. Allen started 29-of-31 games and led the program in assists (107), steals (48) and minutes played (1,021). He also shot 40.7 percent from the field and a team-high 83.8 percent from the charity stripe. He reached double-digit scoring 14 times and dished out at least four assists in 14 games.
Allen was a four-time letterwinner at DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, Maryland, where he was tabbed a Second Team All-Conference player and an All-Gazette Second Team selection as a senior.
His father, LeRoy, played basketball at Hofstra and ranks 11th on the Pride's career scoring list with 1,435 points.
