ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The final exhibition contest for the Knights takes place on Sunday at 6 p.m. against Florida Southern. Admission is free to the match at the UCF Soccer Complex.
UCF has an opportunity to get back on the pitch after facing Tampa on Aug. 16. The Knights started six newcomers in the match, including five freshmen that made their collegiate debut.
Senior midfielder Javier Clavijo converted a direct kick that was located just outside the box to put the Knights on the board in the 85th minute against Tampa.
Florida Southern posted a 5-8-1 overall record in 2015, while compiling a 3-4-1 mark in Sunshine State Conference play.
Packages for the official supporter's group of UCF Soccer, Knights Watch, start at $15 for students and $50 for non-students. Each membership includes season tickets, a soccer scarf, t-shirt and several catered tailgates.
UCF opens the campaign with three-straight road contests, starting at Grand Canyon on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. The Knights also face Charlotte on Sept 2 and Mercer on Sept. 11 before their home-opener against Florida Gulf Coast on Sept 14 at 7 p.m.
