ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – It was yet another busy day for the Knights as they held their ninth and 10th practices of preseason camp on Saturday.
The morning session was held indoors, and was a slightly abbreviated practice. Typically, the offense has been wearing white jerseys and the defense has been in black. Saturday was the first time they mixed up the jerseys on both sides, which helped create more competition. Two of the big highlights came when linebacker Chequan Burkett had a leaping interception at the line of scrimmage, and defensive lineman Tony Guerad blocked a field goal.
Outdoors in the afternoon for practice No. 10, UCF continued the competition between the white jerseys and black jerseys. One of the big moments for team white was defensive back Nevelle Clarke's pick-six, ultimately helping it take a lead. The day closed out with field goals as Matthew Wright and Donald De La Haye getting three kicks apiece. With the entire squad surrounding just the kickers, holders and long snappers, Wright helped team white remain ahead for the victory.
