ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF football has agreed to a home-and-home series with North Carolina, the schools announced Wednesday. The Knights will visit Chapel Hill Sept. 15, 2018, while the Tar Heels make the trek to Orlando Sept. 12, 2020.
UCF and North Carolina have never met on the gridiron.
North Carolina has been to a bowl game in seven of the last eight seasons. That included a 2015 campaign in which it reached the ACC Championship and eventually the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando. The Tar Heels have finished with at least a .500 record in the regular season every year since 2008.
Future non-conference home games for the Knights include: Maryland and South Carolina State (2016), Georgia Tech and FIU (2017), Florida Atlantic (2018), Stanford (2019) and North Carolina (2020).
UCF will get the 2016 campaign underway on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Bright House Networks Stadium.
