ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – On July 20, UCF sophomore wide receiver Tristan Payton along with Joseph Morton sprung into action. Their quick thinking helped apprehend a fleeing suspect racing out of CFE Arena.
"Without them getting involved, we would not have had the key evidence we needed to make that arrest," said UCF Police Chief Richard Beary.
Payton witnessed Morton chasing the suspect and helped in the pursuit, ultimately holding him until authorities arrived. Payton also made sure the suspect was unable to delete evidence from his phone in the process.

Payton and Morton received UCF Police Department Challenge Coins as a token of their appreciation at a recognition ceremony at Bright House Networks Stadium.
