ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- UCF assistant golf coach Adrien Mork qualified for the Florida Open Championship Thursday.
Mork fired a 72 at the Waterlefe Golf & River Club course in Bradenton, Fla. in a Florida Open Qualifying tournament but needed to go to a playoff to to advance to the championship tournament. On the first playoff hole, he tallied a birdie to grab the final qualifying spot available.
Mork was one of six who qualified in a field of 37.
He will now move on to the Florida Open Championship, which is slated for July 15-17 at Interlachen Country Club and Orange Tree Golf Club in Winter Park and Orlando, respectively. Each golfer in the tournament will play 18 holes each at Interlachen and Orange Tree on July 15 and 16. The field will be cut to the low 60 and ties, with the final round set for July 17 at Interlachen.
