Hey Knights Fans!
This past weekend was full of emotion as we played UAB and Memphis back at home. Our team remained united as we tried to look past the 0-3 start to our conference season.
On Friday night we hosted UAB, who currently holds the No. 2 seed in C-USA. In front of a great crowd we were able to take the Blazers to a close five-set match. Our team fought hard and was able to take games two and four from UAB, while falling short in a close game five (22-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 12-15). Even though we did not come out of the game with a win our team was able to set some records and personal bests in the process. It was a tough loss to swallow but we had to put this game behind us and prepare for what lied ahead on Sunday.
Sunday afternoon gave us the high we have been waiting for. Our team was able to surpass Memphis in a three-game sweep (25-21, 25-22, 25-22). The difference Sunday was the presence of our team's attitude and energy from the very beginning. Before we even stepped foot on the court we possessed a winning mentality and confidence that couldn't be matched. We were able to start strong, execute and handle our side of the net. With the combination of these three things we were able to control the speed of the game and prevent Memphis from pushing past us.
We could not be more proud of our team for what we were able to accomplish this weekend. This team has a tremendous amount of heart. There are numerous teams whose drive would have been diminished by a 0-7 losing streak, but our team pressed on. We are looking forward to this weekend as we travel to UTEP and Tulane. Thank you all for your continuous support!

Hey Y'all!
We have officially started our Conference USA season. We played Southern Miss last weekend and unfortunately lost in a close five-set match. They are a good component and we will definitely have another chance to play against them in November.
But for now, we are focusing on this upcoming weekend when we will travel to North Carolina and West Virginia to play ECU and Marshall. Since most of you dedicated UCF fans will not be able to buy a plane ticket, we hope that you will just keep us in your thoughts and wish us luck!
This weekend will be a good fight. We hope to come back 2-0! Thank you again for all of your support! Our next home match will be on Friday, October 2nd, so see you then!

Hi everyone!
We had a tough loss this week against our in-state rival USF in Volleybowl II. They played a great game and are at the top of the Big East. We want to thank all the fans who came out to support us, including the Rowdy Knights and the band - we had a record number of you guys (1,603) packed into the Venue! We appreciate everybody coming out!
We play USF again in November, so we'll be sure to do you proud!
This weekend we host our second home tournament, the Radisson-UCF Classic. Friday at 1pm is our Conference USA opener against Southern Miss, who has had a great start to their season. But we're up for the challenge! We also play FIU Saturday at 3pm and Florida A&M Sunday at 3pm. We want to have just as big of a crowd as last night, so come out and support your KNIGHTS!
Staying MO2V8D - see you this weekend!!!

Hello All!
Over the weekend, we traveled to Greensboro, N.C., which was an 11-hour bus ride. This was a crazy weekend for us! Our first match was against High Point, which we won 3-1. However, it was an absolute challenge to take on UNC Greensboro. After struggling to win in the first two sets of the match, we went to the locker room and discussed what we were going to do as a team to come out on top. It was very difficult for us to climb ourselves out of a deep hole, but we managed to come together as a team and take care of business. It was only our team vs. UNC Greensboro in their home gym with their fans. We had to create our own energy and our own way to bring ourselves back up for a win. It was amazing to see the way that we fought, never giving up, no matter how "ugly" the situation was. Right after our two road trip wins, it was back on the bus for another 11-hour bus ride straight back to Orlando. We arrived at around 8:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 15, is our second-annual VolleyBowl! We are very excited because this game is going to be packed! The experience we were able to get from last year's VolleyBowl vs. Stanford was a memory that we will never forget. USF will have the same amount of fans (or more) and it will be just as exciting. This is going to be an awesome experience to know that are playing our No. 1 in-state rival and it is going to be televised at OUR HOME COURT! We can't wait!!!!! I know the Rowdy Knights, as well as the rest of the hundreds and hundreds of fans, will give their full support!!!
Well we will continue to stay MO2V8D and hopefully you guys will do the same! Take care and see you all next week!!

Hey Everyone!!
Our 2009 season is off to a great start and we want to give you guys the inside dirt with these blogs! It's going to be an awesome year full of great moments that we want to share with all of our crazy fans!!
Speaking of fans, we have to give a shout out to the Rowdy Knights and all the fans that rocked the gym this past weekend at our UCF-Radisson Invitational Tournament. You guys were amazing! Thanks for making it such a great atmosphere to play in. Winning means so much more to us when the fans are there to support us!
We finished the weekend 4-0 by defeating Jacksonville, UNF, FAU and DePaul. After that we went to Bethune-Cookman to improve our record to 5-0. It was our first road trip and it was a little crazy. Bethune-Cookman had an actual DJ up on a stage for the game...Not a bad idea!! The gym was so loud we could barely think straight, but it got us pumped up since we didn't have our own ridiculous fans there. But, we know you were there in spirit;)
Tomorrow we leave for Waco, Texas to play Baylor, Purdue and UTSA. Purdue is ranked No. 24 and Baylor is ranked in the top 30, so we are really excited to have a shot at beating them. It will also give us a good idea of where our team stands as of now. This will be our first trip where we fly, so I'm sure we will have some good road-trip stories for you next week!
By the way, our slogan for the year is "motivated" but we spell it "MO2V8D." So keep coming out to games and keep us motivated!
Staying MO2V8D and we'll see ya next week!
