Faculty & Staff Members Notice
Thanksgiving Day Game: Because this game falls on a university holiday, it will be treated like a Saturday game in most respects. All parking lots will open at noon.
Saturday game days:
During Saturday game days, UCF will conduct morning classes. Afternoon classes will be canceled, and classroom buildings will be locked at 12 p.m. Faculty and staff members with keys may access the buildings after 12 p.m. if they are conducting official business; however, they are advised to make sure that doors remain locked after they enter/exit. Students may not access classroom buildings after 12 p.m. on Saturday game days.
UCF will reserve parking lot B4 for staff and faculty members conducting official university business on campus. For more information about official university business parking, contact Peter Wallace at 407-823-3612 or peter.wallace@ucf.edu.
Weekday game days:
UCF will host two Thursday evening football games this fall, on Sept. 3 against Florida International University and on Nov. 19 against East Carolina University.
Please keep the following details in mind as you plan for your fall classes.
The Sept. 3 game will kick off at 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. Because of the early kickoff time, classes on the main campus, in the Central Florida Research Park, at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management and on UCF's regional campuses will conclude at noon. Offices at those locations also will close for normal operations at noon in order to allow adequate time for a smooth transition to game day activities, which will begin at 1 p.m.
UCF will return to its usual weekday football game schedule for the Nov. 19 game, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
On Nov. 19, classes on the main campus, in the Central Florida Research Park, at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management and on UCF's regional campuses will be conducted through 3 p.m. University operations at those locations also will close at 3 p.m., and game day activities will begin at 4 p.m.
Faculty members who have classes in progress at noon on Sept. 3 or at 3 p.m. on Nov. 19 may choose to conduct the portions of those sessions that come before the closing time.
On both game days, certain staff will be required to work past the time when the university closes. Please speak with your supervisor about how your area will handle operations after 3 p.m.
UCF will re-open for normal operations, including regular class and activity schedules, at 6 a.m. on Sept. 4 and Nov. 20 respectively.
Faculty and staff parking on weekday game days:Regular university parking policies will be in effect until noon for the Sept. 3 game and until 3 p.m. for the Nov. 19 game.
Staff and faculty members will be able to stay in many campus parking lots and garages after classes have concluded on the two game days. Those areas -- referred to on game days as the Red Zone and Blue Zone -- include garages A, B and I, the Libra Garage and lots B5-B6, B9, B12-13 and H4.
Staff and faculty members who have a game day parking permit may remain parked in their designated Gold Zone lot or garage throughout the day as long as their game day permit is displayed.
All unauthorized vehicles in Garages C, D, F and H and Lots E1-E8 are subject to towing beginning at 1 p.m. Sept 3. and beginning at 3 p.m. Nov. 19.
UCF reserved parking spaces for faculty and staff members will not be honored after noon on Sept. 3 and after 3 p.m. on Nov. 19.
UCF will reserve parking lot B4 for staff and faculty members conducting official university business during game day activities. To request a reservation for official business parking, contact Peter Wallace at 407-823-3612 or peter.wallace@ucf.edu.
