UCF students live and learn in a diverse environment that includes students from all 50 states and about 150 countries. The academic achievements of each freshman class frequently set new university records.
A UCF-record 275 National Merit Scholars were enrolled in fall 2014. The average high school GPA for freshmen starting in fall 2014 was 3.9, and the average SAT score was 1,256. Four of every 10 UCF students are minorities.
Students attend classes at the main campus and at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management in the midst of top tourist attractions, the College of Medicine at a burgeoning medical city that features world-class hospitals and research facilities, the downtown Center for Emerging Media, and 11 regional campuses.
The university recently began a push to hire 200 faculty members in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields and areas of high student demand.

Offering more than 200 degree programs, UCF has become an academic and research leader in fields such as optics, modeling and simulation, engineering and computer science, business administration, education, science, hospitality management and digital media.
America's Partnership University is committed to working closely with governments, industry, nonprofit organizations and other universities to prepare students for success before and after graduation.
UCF is working with the City of Orlando and other partners to develop a shared campus with Valencia College in downtown Orlando. The campus, 13 miles west of the main campus, would accommodate 10,000 to 13,000 students.
Ohio State, Texas, Arizona State and seven other large public universities joined UCF in establishing the University Innovation Alliance. Members will share innovations to help more low-income and first-generation students earn degrees.
UCF, the University of South Florida and Florida International University formed a consortium dedicated to improving graduation rates and increasing the number of graduates employed in Florida.
Modern Amenities
UCF's 1,415-acre main campus provides modern facilities, with 600 acres set aside for lakes, woods and an arboretum. Knights Plaza features the 10,000-seat CFE Arena, apartment-style student housing, shops, restaurants and Bright House Networks Stadium.
At Technology Commons, students test and purchase the latest computer products and produce podcasts and video presentations. A new Performing Arts Center provides music and theatre students with high-tech classrooms and rehearsal spaces.
The Veterans Academic Resources Center offers student veterans a one-stop headquarters for services such as veterans' benefits, academic advising and career services, as well as study and lounge spaces.
