MONDAY

Hey Knight Fans!

So our season has sadly come to an end. We lost in our first round against Marshall in a heartbreaker (2-1). Although our season had a lot of ups and downs, it is something that the team can build on and learn from for next year. We want to thank everyone that has followed our blog, and has come to any of our games. It really means a lot to us, knowing that we have a lot of support at home!

I just want to personally say (this is HILLARY) thank you to all the seniors. We will miss you guys a lot. You have done a lot for us these past four years and you have left us with a lot of awesome memories. It is going to be hard to fill your shoes next year. Thanks for everything and from all of us we love you and we will miss you !!!

Until next time, BOO YA KA

TUESDAY....HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!

We're headed to El Paso today for the Conference tournament! We are so excited to go because there was a chance that the tournament could have been canceled due to the swine flu that is going around. We are the 5th seed in conference right now and we have a great chance of defending our championship title and winning the whole thing again!

We are coming off a great weekend with two wins against UTEP. It was a very emotional day for the seniors having all of our parents there to watch us play our very last games at our home field.

I (Bre) have thoroughly enjoyed all four years here and will miss each and every person I have met and befriended. I think I can speak on behalf of all the seniors when I say that. And just a shout out to the other three seniors Magon, Lexi and Lindsay: I love you guys so much and I wish all of you the best in life and in whatever you decide to do! You will always be my friends and sisters for life!

Well we have a long day ahead of traveling ahead of us. Wish us luck in the tourney!

Until next time, BOO YA KA

FRIDAY

Hey everyone!

We touched down in Houston and the weather was horrid. There was thunder and lightening as we were getting our bags in baggage claim. We were really excited when we saw our bus because it was brand new! On our way to practice our brand new bus' windshield wipers broke so, unfortunately, we had to switch to different one that wasn't as new. We were excited to see some of our UCF Shuttle busses at the repair shop!

We are really excited to play tomorrow. We need to win each conference series from here on out because we will be seeded better in the conference tournament. Wish us luck this weekend!

Until next time, BOO YA KA

FRIDAY

Hi Everyone!!!!

We played Stetson this week and we beat them!!! The cool thing about it was that the game was televised. We had so much fun with the cameras everywhere. We're not gonna lie, we may have jumped in front of a camera or two to get our 10 seconds of fame. Hehe...oh, we guess the game was pretty exciting too. ;-)

The entire game we were neck-in-neck, scoring runs back and forth, until finally we scored a run to get ahead, and our defense and pitching held them the rest of the game. It was a homerun derby, with both teams knocking out homers. It was nice to beat our in-state rivals on television!

Today we play Marshall at 3p.m. and 5 p.m. and they are No. 1 in the conference right now. If we win the series against Marshall, it will definitely mix up the standings in conference. So, come out and watch!

Until next time, BOO YA KA

MONDAY

Hey everyone!!!!

Sorry we haven't written in a while. We are well into our season and have been very busy the last few weeks. We hit a little bit of a rough patch during our season, however, after this weekend we are back to our old selves.

We won the series against Southern Miss and although we lost one out of the three games, we played really well. The best thing about this weekend was that we fought hard, and even though we were behind in runs, everyone on the team contributed to score. People that were put in clutch situations came up big and we generated almost all our runs with two outs on the board! We are so proud of how everyone played this weekend, and we are looking to carry into our upcoming games.

Thanks to all the fans that came out and watched! You're AWESOME!!!

FRIDAY

Hey everyone!!!

We just made it to Tulsa after a long day of traveling.

After losing our mid-week game, we practiced hard on Thursday to keep focused. We have our first Conference USA games this weekend and winning the series would be great way to kick-off league play. All the games we've previously played do not mean as much as our games this weekend. The way we play Saturday and Sunday will set the tone of how we will do the rest of the season. Tulsa is ranked #1 in Conference as of right now and taking at least two wins is our ultimate goal. Some things we need to focus on this weekend, is staying consistent at the plate by hitting the ball like we have been doing and also keeping the errors very limited. We are more than capable of doing both.

Well, its time for us to get some rest. We have a big day tomorrow!!! You can watch our games on Gametracker if you'd like to keep up with scores.

Until next time, BOO YA KA

SUNDAY

Hey everyone!!!

This week has been very hectic for us. We played seven games altogether, and won six of them. We'd say that's a pretty decent record. The whole team has been doing really well, whether its defense, offense or pitching. Since we've been playing so many games, we only have about one or two practices a week. Although it gets tough at times, everyone finds a way to fight through it and play our best!

A big shout out to Abby McClain, who has been hitting the cover off the ball!!! Watch out fans, this kid is a stud! She's doing awesome as our leadoff batter, so props to her!!! Keep it up Abby!!! Everyone on the team is contributing to our offense. Our line-up, one through nine has been solid and we can count on anyone to get the job done!!!

Thanks again to our loyal fans that were out there watching this weekend!!! It really means a lot to us that you are there.

Until next time, BOO YA KA!!!!

SUNDAY

Hey everyone it's the HOT CORNERS !!!!

We just finished up this weekend's tournament and, overall, this week went really well. We won four games, but came up short our last game of the tournament, falling to Oklahoma State, 2-0. We played really well this week and both Ashleigh and Kristina came up big for us pitching great all weekend. Our hitting was "stellar" as coach Best would say. Abby and Mary Helen came up with some nice hits as well. They are both doing an awesome job.

This week is going to be pretty long for us. We have games coming up Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. We are looking to improve our record and stay above a .500, so make sure to keep up with us this week !!!

Until next time, BOO-YA-KA !!!!

GAME DAY

Hey everyone it's the HOT CORNERS =) !!!!

Well today we play Jacksonville at their place, and we are pretty excited. Coming off our last three games we feel really confident. We finally started to click and it is exciting to watch.

We think this week is going to be our best week yet. Everyone is starting to find their " SWAGGA" as Coach Best would say. So make sure you guys keep up to date with all our games, they are going to be exciting to both watch and read about.

Until next time, BOO-YA-KA...

Valentine's Day!

Hey everyone!!!

So, we finished up our tournament, and besides the fact that we went 2-2, we are finally playing like UCF softball is supposed to play. Other than our first game, our defense was awesome and we were hitting the ball like we needed to. Just a shout out to our pitchers...they did an awesome job.

We played Tennessee in our last game, which, by the way, were ranked 11th. Although we lost, we stuck with them a whole eight innings. The final score was 1-0, but over all, we did really well in the tournament! Thank you to everyone that showed up to all our games, it is greatly appreciated!

We hope that everyone had fun if you came and watched us play. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Until next time, BOO YA KA!!!!

Wednesday

IT'S GAMEDAY!!!!!!!

Hey everyone...it's our first home game today and boy are we glad to be back on our own field! We had a nice day off on Monday which gave us time to get some work in from after the long weekend. So, at practice yesterday, we regrouped and worked on what we needed to in order to be prepared for today. We let go of the losses we had in Arizona and started focusing on what we need to take care of now, which is UNF. Our games today are so important just because we need to prove to ourselves that we can bounce back with a couple of wins to even out our season. Hopefully we can give our fans a show that they'll enjoy!

Well, wish us luck!!!

Until next time...BOO YA KA

Saturday

Hey everyone it's the HOT CORNERS =) !!!!

Well, today we had two games. The first one was against Oklahoma State and we won 8-5. We had a nice hitting performance as a team and a good pitching performance from Magon. The second game was a little rough though, we lost to Western Michigan.

On a better note we went to eat at HONEY Bear. It is a BBQ restaurant in Tempe. The food was pretty good, but definitely the best part of the night was when Bre's dad sang to us with his little ukulele. ( HE IS SO DREAMY...that was Hillary ) But, for real, it was really nice, he has a very good voice.

Tomorrow we play Stanford, they are a very good team, but they are beatable. We are hoping to come out of this tournament with another win, especially against a team like Stanford.

Well we have to go to bed now so....

Until next time, BOO-YA-KA...

Check Out Our Photo Gallery!!

Hey everyone. So, we played our first two games today. The first one didn't go as well as we wanted to...so we won't talk about it much. We hit really well, which was the upside, but we lost to Texas Tech. It was our first game of the season so we'll just say it was first game jitters. For our second game we played Arizona State, a.k.a. the No. 2 ranked team in the nation! Although we lost again, we played a lot better the second game and got key hits and homers! (ahem, Hillary and Vanessa ;)) We ended up losing, 10-7, but we battled until the very end.

Well we're at dinner now, so we are going to refuel our bodies with some food and rest.

So, until next time...boo ya ka!

Thursday

Hey everyone it's the HOT CORNERS =) !!!!

We just got to Arizona today. We arrived pretty late (9:30 Orlando time), but it felt like the longest flight ever. It was really only 5 hours though, nothing compared to last year's flight to Hawaii! Anyway, we went to eat at Dave and Busters and it was pretty good.

When we got here we were pretty surprised that Arizona doesn't look like a big desert with cacti and dry land everywhere, but it is actually really nice. Plus, the weather is in the high 70's, so it definitely beats the weather in Orlando right now.

Well we would love to write more but it is getting pretty late and we have to wake up at 7 a.m. to get ready for our big games tomorrow. We hope all of you keep track with our games tomorrow, we love our fans and the support.

Until next time, BOO-YA-KA...

Wednesday

Hey everyone!!! Welcome to our first blog!!! We're so excited to do this, especially since fans can get the inside look at what really goes on with UCF Softball!!!

Well...first things first, tomorrow afternoon we leave for ARIZONA!! We are really excited to be playing some of the best teams in the country, including last year's Women's College World Series champs, ASU. We have been practicing really hard these past few weeks and we are ready to earn some respect!!! The count down is finally coming to an end and we are so ready to get our season going. We are hoping to do as well, if not better, than we did last year. This first tournament is a great way to get the ball rolling, especially with all the top teams we are playing.

Just as a side note, our infielders rule!!!! Oh..wait...we are both infielders!!! What a coincidence! The four of us combined hit 12 homeruns the other day in one practice. That's right!!!! Not to mention though...we do have awesome outfielders!!! We have challenges at the end of practice, and the past two times (out of the two challenges we had against them) the outtie's offense beat the innie's defense. There were consequences to losing...so we were a little bitter being the competitive team we are. Regardless, the outfielders cheered us on and even ran foul poles with us when they didn't have to! What can we say, other than being such a close knit team...we're studs all around! Our pitchers and catchers are out there working hard everyday too...I mean we can't forget about them. They are just a tad important to the game. But on a serious note, they are very hard workers and each one of them will be extremely important to the success of our team!

Well we have a secret handshake that we do, and at the end of it, we always say boo ya ka. So from now on, when we say boo ya ka, you'll know it's time to say goodbye.

Until next time, you know we're always keepin' it real, BOO YA KA!!!
