The UCF rowing team posted a solid Sunday showing at the 2016 NCAA Rowing Championships, with the Varsity Eight posting an open-water length win in the D Finals.

The Knights finished 20th in the team standings with 20 points.

The Varsity Four opened the day in the D Finals, pushing out to an early lead at the 500-meter mark. The squad, consisting of Kristen Taylor, Jazmin Sepulveda, Rachel Rabinowitz, Vitoria Artmann and Paula Parks, nearly matched its Saturday time, crossing the line in 7:51.787.

The Knights finished third in the D Final, and 21st overall in the Four standings.

The Second Varsity Eight improved its time once again in the D Finals. The boat, consisting of Catherine Harms, Edvina Nesukaityte, Jasmine Blais, Dani Burton, Sarah Gordon, Grace Lindberg, Lauren Wasko, Danielle Taylor and Leonie Hamel, held the lead at the first 500-meter mark. The Knights posted their fastest time of the season, crossing in 6:53.377.

The Black and Gold held off a late push from Rhode Island to finish second in the D Final. The Knights finished 20th overall in the Second Varsity Eight.

The Varsity Eight jumped out to a quick start, holding off an early push from Rhode Island. The squad, consisting of Olivia Hecimovich, Ashleigh Boyd, Lauren Aiello, Viktorija Senkute, Ivana Krkljus, Zana Krakic, Marija Medelinskaite, Rachael Klunder and Julia Chase, improved its time again, crossing the line in 6:38.764.

The Knights pulled away halfway through the race, pushing out to an open-water lead. UCF won the D Finals, finishing 19th overall in the standings.
