GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Senior Shelby Turnier pitched a solid outing, but the UCF softball team came up short against No. 1 Florida, 5-0, at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Redshirt junior Jasmine Acevedo gave the Knights a runner in the bottom of the third, as she worked a full count before drawing a one-out walk. A sacrifice bunt from junior Willow Kalinen moved Acevedo to second, but she remained there as Florida collected the final out of the inning.

A wild pitch allowed freshman pinch runner Tiffany Lower to move to second, and senior Samantha McCloskey worked a full count before drawing a walk to put a pair of runners on base. The Knights were unable to push any runs across in the inning.
