ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) - UCF student-athletes continued a tradition of academic success in the 2016 spring semester. For the 17th consecutive term, the Knights' department-wide grade-point average (GPA) was above a 3.0.
The Knights posted a department GPA of 3.011 in the spring. Included in that number were nearly 50 percent of UCF's Everyday Champion student-athletes who were at a 3.0 or better. Nearly 30 percent of the Knights were at 3.5 or better, placing them on the Dean's List. Meanwhile, 35 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 during the spring.
We're extremely proud of the academic culture at UCF, said Eric Wood, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services. Our student-athletes put in a great deal of hard work and they take pride in their academics. We also have a great support staff, as well as coaches and administrators who all take academic success seriously. Our student-athletes are here to prepare for life after college and a UCF degree is one huge step in that direction.
Women's tennis paved the way for the Knights this past semester, posting a team GPA of 3.712. Meanwhile, the men's soccer program posted the best GPA for a men's team at 3.418.
