ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The Knights cruised to a 4-0 victory against UAB on Sunday morning at the UCF Tennis Complex. Freshman Natalia Serrano clinched the match for the Knights with a straight-set win at No. 5.

In the doubles competition, a default win was picked up by junior Cortney Cesarini and sophomore Monica Matias at No. 3 to start the match. UCF (11-6) secured the first point with a 6-3 triumph by senior Caroline Eberhart and sophomore Emilia Granstrom against UAB (7-13).
The Knights took a 2-0 advantage as senior Clare Mendell recorded a default win at No. 6 singles. Sophomore Monica Matias delivered a 6-3, 6-2 triumph to up the advantage to 3-0.
The match was secured at No. 5 by Serrano, who posted a 6-3, 6-2 win. Senior Sofia Baptista, Eberhart and Granstrom opened up singles play with first-set victories before UCF recorded its fourth point.
The Knights wrap up a 12-match homestand Wednesday with a 2 p.m. contest against Stetson. Admission to the UCF Tennis Complex is always free.
