ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - In its final effort of the 2015-16 campaign, the UCF women's golf team finished 12th at the Bryan National Collegiate. Junior Ayaka Nakayama tied for eighth, the best individual finish for the Knights.

Nakayama tallied scores of 76-72-76= 224 (+8). Fellow junior Ashley Holder shot 78 on day one and then matched Nakayama in each of the next two rounds (78-72-76=226, +10). Holder finished tied for 15th.

Senior Mary Mulcahy shot 81-76-82= 239 (+23), junior Johanna Larsson shot 80-83-84= 247 (+31) and freshman Dree Fausnaugh turned in final scores of 87-81-83= 251 (+35).

In team play, Virginia went wire-to-wire earning the victory while South Carolina took second and Florida State was third. Wake Forest was fourth with Notre Dame and Kentucky tied for fifth.

The American Athletic Conference Championship will be held April 17-19 in Palm Coast, Fla. After taking the crown last season, UCF will look to defend its title on the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Resort.
