TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - A five-run second inning proved to be the difference at JoAnne Graf Field on Tuesday evening, as UCF Softball came up short, 7-1, to No. 6/7 Florida State.

UCF (31-17) shut down the Seminoles in the first inning, but a grand slam and RBI single up the middle allowed FSU to take a 5-0 lead in the second inning.

The Knights bounced back in the top of the third as senior Kalyn Cenal doubled for the fifth time this season.

With two outs in the top of the fourth, senior Jessica Ujvari doubled to extend the inning. She came around to score on an RBI single from freshman Cassady Brewer, making it a 5-1 game.

The Knights loaded the bases in the top of the sixth, but were left stranded. Florida State added to its lead with a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning, pushing out to a 7-1 advantage.

Kalyn Cenal, Jessica Ujvari, Cassady Brewer and junior Brittany Solis each recorded a hit for the Knights. Senior Shelby Turnier tossed a complete game for UCF, striking out three Seminoles in the contest.
