ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF Spirit program concluded a clinic and two-day tryout process to select new members for the 2016-2017 KnightMoves Dance Team. The weekend began on Friday, April 22 with a tryout prep clinic offered to dancers ages 13 and up.

The prep clinic was an opportunity for dancers to practice skills, meet the team and ask any questions about the spirit program and the tryout process.
"Last year, we had a relatively young team and only lost two members to graduation which made it a very competitive tryout! The four newcomers that were selected are extremely talented and will make wonderful additions to our program," said head dance coach Brook Domenig. "I am really looking forward to the 2016-2017 season with this group of young athletes."
The tryout evaluation for KnightMoves began Saturday morning and carried into Sunday afternoon. Dancers were evaluated on a jazz and hip-hop routine, sideline and crowd-leading techniques, hip-hop tricks and their confidence and composure during an interview.
After three cuts, 19 dancers were named to the 2016-2017 KnightMoves Dance Team.
"The amount of talent on this team is exciting for our future as a group. I am thankful for my teammates, coaches and this program," said senior Brianna Tucciarone. "I cannot wait to show everyone what we are capable of during the 2016-2017 season."
Newcomers to this year's team are all incoming freshmen. They are: Bailey Jenrich (Ft. Walton Beach High School), Leah Hurd (Cypress Lake High School), Marcela Hernandez (Coral Gables High School) and Victoria Jennewein (Palm Bay Magnet High School).
The 2016-2017 KnightMoves Dance Team performs at all home football games, men's and women's basketball and volleyball in addition to numerous university and community outreach appearances.
