04-23-16 - UCF vs. Tulane - Images by UCF Knights
ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - With both pitchers keeping the opposing team's offense in check, the Knights took a 1-0 lead into the eighth inning, but Tulane scored four unanswered runs over the final two frames to clinch the series on Saturday afternoon at the UCF Baseball Complex.

UCF (20-21, 5-6 The American) was led offensively by junior shortstop Kam Gellinger and freshman third baseman Matthew Mika with two hits each vs. Tulane (25-13, 6-4 The American).
Another Strong Start
- Juan Pimentel went 7 1/3 innings and struck out four, while giving up just one earned run.
- The Green Wave tallied seven hits off the righty, but he helped strand seven runners.
- The Knights also saw Trent Thompson and Harrison Hukari pitch in relief.
- UCF turned its conference-leading 43rd double play of the season on a ground ball to short in the eighth inning.
Scoring First
- Kam Gellinger started off the sixth frame with his 15th double of the season to right center.
- After a walk drawn by Brennan Bozeman, a fielder's choice and an error placed two runners in scoring position with one out.
- Luke Hamblin pushed a bunt up the first base line for a single that put the Knights ahead 1-0.
Noting the Green Wave
- Stephen Alamais paced Tulane with three hits.
- A two-run homer was blasted by Jake Rogers in the ninth inning, while Grant Witherspoon and Hunter Hope drove in runs during the eighth frame.
- The win was notched by Ross Massey (5-2), who went eight-plus innings and struck out three .
- Trevor Simms recorded his first save of the campaign.

- UCF and Tulane wrap up the three-game set at 1 p.m. Sunday
