UCF's throwers had a big Friday afternoon at the Pepsi Florida Relays, earning three top-eight finishes and a pair of personal records.
Tayla Greene set a new personal record in the hammer, tossing the implement 196-6/59.90m to claim second in the event in Gainesville, Florida. Chelsea Gobourne snatched fifth with a throw of 194-6/59.28m, while Kalen Hambrick claimed sixth with a career-best hurl of 192-1/58.55m
While the throwers shined on the east coast, Ashley Jocelyn was the highlight on the west at the Stanford Invitational. The junior sprinter finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.66.
