ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The Knights snapped their six-match win streak on Thursday afternoon with a 4-2 setback against rival No. 56 USF. UCF took a quick 2-0 lead before the Bulls rattled off four-straight singles matches.

UCF (10-5, 3-2 The American) opened the contest with junior Cortney Cesarini and sophomore Monica Matias blanking their opponent, 6-0, at No. 3 doubles. After USF (12-3, 4-1 The American) won at No. 1, the No. 2 tandem of senior Caroline Eberhart and sophomore Emilia Granstrom posted a 6-4 victory to clinch the doubles point.

At No. 5 singles, Cesarini tallied a 6-1, 6-4 win that put the Knights up by a 2-0 score. The Lower Gwynedd, Pa., native won her seventh-consecutive match.

Granstrom recorded a 6-2 win in the first frame at No. 3 and was in a decisive third set when the Bulls clinched the match at No. 1. That USF triumph came in a second-set tiebreaker, 7-2.

UCF continues a 13-match homestand with a pair of matches this weekend against No. 46 FIU on Friday at 2 p.m. and UAB at 10 a.m. Sunday.
