ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - A four-run sixth inning, which included a two-run homer from senior Jessica Ujvari, propelled the UCF softball team to a 4-2 victory over Kent State on Tuesday evening at the UCF Softball Complex.

"It always gives you energy when you get the leadoff hitter on," head coach Renee Luers-Gillispie said. "You know that something's going to happen; you know we're going to get her to second base. You know we've got great hitters that are coming up behind them. It was that energy in that was happening in that inning that really stirred everything up."

UCF improved to 22-13 overall. Jessica Ujvari, freshman Cassady Brewer, junior Willow Kalinen and freshman Tiffany Lower each recorded a hit for the Knights. Senior Shelby Turnier allowed just three hits over five innings with seven strikeouts. Senior Jamie Ujvari earned her seventh win of the season, giving up just one hit over two innings with a pair of strikeouts.

All At Once
? Kent State used a solo home run to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second and held the Knights to just one hit heading into the bottom of the sixth.
? Senior Kalyn Cenal started the bottom of the sixth off by drawing a walk, and Tiffany Lower beat the throw to first on a sacrifice bunt to put a pair of runners on with no outs for the Knights.
? A sacrifice bunt from junior Linnea Goodman advanced the runners to second and third, and a dropped pop-up allowed both to score, giving UCF a 2-1 lead.
? With sophomore Courtney Rotton on first and a 1-1 count, Jessica Ujvari sent one out of the park, extending the Black and Gold lead to 4-1.
? The Golden Flashes added a second run in the top of the seventh, but the Knights collected the final out before Kent State could make a comeback.

Home Run Hitter
? Jessica Ujvari's two-run shot just to the right of the scoreboard at the UCF Softball Complex gave the Knights a 4-1 lead over the Golden Flashes.
? The Pensacola, Fla., native leads the team with five homers this season.
? Her first three round-trippers were solo shots, while her next two were multi-run homers.
