An important 5 2/3 innings were logged by junior Juan Pimentel to save the Knights' bullpen that accounted for eight frames in Sunday's series finale vs. Brown. The Miami, Fla., native struck out two in his outing.

UCF picked three runners off in the contest. Pitchers Pimentel and senior Harrison Hukari each erased one runner in the second and seventh frames, respectively, while sophomore catcher Logan Heiser gunned down a runner at first during the eighth inning.

The Knights (12-10) struck first in the second frame with doubles by juniors Eli Putnam and Eugene Vazquez to right field. An FSU (16-5) throwing error on a failed pickoff attempt with the bases loaded put UCF up 1-0.

After the Hamblin homer to lead off the third frame, Florida State responded with a five runs on five hits to take a 6-2 lead before tacking on the final run in the seventh inning.

The Seminoles were led by Cal Raleigh, Quincy Neiporte and Ben DeLuzio with two runs driven in each. The win was credited to the Seminoles' Jim Voyles, who threw five innings of relief and fanned three.

The series against No. 10 Florida State continues on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. start at Dick Howser Stadium.

The Knights return home on Friday to start a three-game set against Cornell at 6:30 p.m. The Saturday contest against the Big Red features Pink at the Park with 200 tank tops being given away and the first pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
