Anne-Marie Blaney and Rosie Chamberlain were the Knights' top performers with each breaking a school record. Newcomer Jhane' Carter also impressed, setting a new freshman record in the shot put.
BLANEY BREAKS HER OWN
Anne-Marie Blaney had a career day in the 1,500-meter run, breaking her own school record with a time of 4:23.14. Her new personal best is seven seconds faster than her previous UCF record, which the junior set in 2014. Blaney finished third overall just a few seconds behind a pair of professional runners.
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
Rosie Chamberlain ran away from the field in the 800-meter run, racing to a new school and facility record of 2:04.54. The sophomore's time broke Ne'Ausha Logan's old record of 2:06.37, which was set in 2013.
MAKING A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION
UCF freshman Jhane' Carter continues to make a good first impression for the Knights, setting a new freshman record for the Black & Gold in the shot put with a toss of 49-9/15.16m. Carter, who already broke the Knights' indoor school record, threw the shot one foot farther than Precious Ogunleye, who previous had the freshman record.
NEXT UP
The Knights remain at home next week, hosting the UCF Invitational. The two-day meet will not only feature collegiate teams but also some of Orlando's top high school programs.
