WACO, Texas (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF softball team came up short in a doubleheader at No. 20 Baylor on Saturday. The Knights and the Lady Bears were tied 1-1 heading to the seventh inning at Getterman Stadium, but a two-run homer gave Baylor the series-opening win. The Lady Bears posted a 2-0 win to sweep the doubleheader.

UCF (21-12) collected a hit from freshman Cassady Brewer in the series opener, while junior Linnea Goodman drew a walk for the Knights.

Senior Jessica Ujvari went 2-for-3 at the plate in the second game. Goodman knocked a hit for the Knights, while junior Willow Kalinen drew a walk.

One In Game One
* The Knights scored first in the series opener. After three scoreless innings, Linnea Goodman connected on a pitch, and a Baylor fielding error allowed her to take second.
* A sacrifice bunt from junior Brittany Solis moved Goodman to third, and the Long Beach, Calif., native tagged up on sophomore Courtney Rotton's sacrifice fly to give UCF a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning.
* The Lady Bears responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth, but the UCF defense held Baylor to just one run entering the seventh inning. Baylor used a two-run walk-off home run to capture the series opener.

Stopped In Game Two
* Baylor kept its momentum in the second game, scoring a run in the bottom of the second to take the early lead.
* UCF's first base runner came in the top of the third when Willow Kalinen drew walk. After sophomore Courtney Rotton was hit by a pitch in the top of the fourth, Jessica Ujvari put runners on first and second with the Knights' first hit of the game, but the pair were left stranded.
* The Lady Bears tacked on a second run in the bottom of the fifth to extend their lead to 2-0.
* Linnea Goodman came up with a base hit in the top of the sixth, and Ujvari opened the top of the seventh with a hard-hit single up the middle, but the Baylor defense kept the Knights off the scoreboard for the 2-0 win.

The Knights close out the series with No. 20 Baylor in Waco, Texas, at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. UCF returns to the UCF Softball Complex on March 22, hosting Kent State at 5:30 p.m.
