ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - After winning a tightly contested doubles point, UCF used the momentum to top Albany, 6-1, on Thursday and extend its win streak to five matches. Senior Sofia Baptista secured the match in favor of the Knights with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2 at the UCF Tennis Complex.

After Albany (6-5) won at No. 1 doubles, the pair of senior Caroline Eberhart and Emilia Granstrom fought off a match point to record a 7-5 win. Junior Cortney Cesarini and sophomore Monica Matias came back from down 5-1 to send the match into a tiebreaker and eventually earned an 11-9 triumph at No. 3.
With the Knights (9-5) up 1-0, Cesarini cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5 to open singles play. Consecutive 6-4 victories were notched by Granstrom at No. 3.
After the match was clinched by Baptista with the Knights' fourth point, Eberhart extended the advantage by taking a third-set supertiebreaker 10-2 at No. 1. Freshman Natalia Serrano saved a match point in a 12-10 decisive sueprtiebreaker to extend her personal win streak to seven.
The Knights continue their 14-match homestand on Saturday at noon against Syracuse.
