FT. MYERS, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - After starting the season with two home victories, UCF was handed its first setback on Saturday afternoon in a tight 4-3 match at Florida Gulf Coast. The Knights were led by senior Sofia Baptista, sophomore Emilia Granstrom and freshman Natalia Serrano with singles wins at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

FGCU (2-2) took an early lead, 1-0, by taking two doubles matches. Serrano quickly brought UCF (2-1) even with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5.
After dropping the first set, Granstrom at No. 3 battled back to capture the next two frames, 6-2, 6-0. A pair of identical 6-3 wins at No. 2 in the first and third sets by Baptista put the Knights up, 3-1.
Despite UCF taking the first set in five singles matches, the Eagles fought back and finished off the match with three consecutive victories, which included two battles that went to a decisive third set.
The Knights are right back on the courts Sunday at 11 a.m. against Florida Atlantic. UCF returns home on Wednesday for a 2 p.m. contest against North Florida.
