ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- UCF Athletics hosted the Second Annual Central Florida Sports & Entertainment Career Fair at The Venue Wednesday. Last year's event was a huge success, but participant numbers this year nearly doubled to around 1,400.

"Seeing that jump in attendance really makes us think we have something special here," said UCF Athletics Sales & Service Account Executive Jordan Lyda, who came up with the idea for the event.
Organizations and job seekers alike came from all over the nation to take part in the event. According to Ohio University graduate Ronald Prioleau, he knew he "had to go" when he heard about it.

"My decision to come down here was basically to get an opportunity in sports, to get my foot in the door," Prioleau said.

UCF student Juliette Perez even got permission to leave work a little early Wednesday in order to make sure she didn't miss out on the opportunity to talk with potential employers.

Part of the success of this year's event was UCF Athletics' partnership with Teamwork Online, which helped market the career fair to its national database.

"This is one of the largest career fairs we've ever been a part of with this sort of partnership," founder of TeamWork Online Buffy Filipell said. "TeamWork Online is proud to continue its ongoing college career fair educational partnership with UCF."
