ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The Knights finished to 16th at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Tuesday. Despite being without its top player, battling weather delays, and facing some of the best teams in the nation, UCF finished strong.

Senior Mary Mulcahy led the way from start to finish for the Knights. She finished tied for 33rd, her best individual finish of the year. Mulcahy shot 74-72-76= 222 (+6) matching her season-best low-round total in the second round.

Junior Ayaka Nakayama finished at 227 (+11) while junior Johanna Larsson shot 232 (+16). Freshman Dree Fausnaugh and Erica Stoner shot 231 (+15) and 241 (+25) respectively.

Despite a final round surge from No. 13 Oklahoma State, No. 11 Florida held on to win the team competition by just a single stroke. No. 7 Alabama finished third, No. 12 Arizona was fourth, and Texas was fifth.

Michigan State's Sarah Burnham and LSU's Sydney Cavin finished as co-medalists atop the individual leaderboard at five under par (211).

Next up for the Knights will be the Lady Gator Invitational March 5-6 in Gainesville, Fla.
