ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF was unable to hold off a North Florida rally on Wednesday in a 4-3 defeat at the UCF Tennis Complex. The match that swung back and forth came down to No. 4 singles, where the Ospreys took the decisive third set, 6-3, after the squads split the first two frames with 6-4 scores.

The Knights (3-2) came out and notched a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles behind the play of senior Caroline Eberhart and sophomore Monica Matias. A supertiebreaker at No. 2 determined the first point of the match, which favored UNF (3-1), 7-5.
Senior Sofia Baptista and sophomore Emilia Granstrom continued their dominant play to start the campaign and each improved to 5-0 at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Baptista topped her UNF foe 6-2, 6-0, while Granstrom notched a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
With the Knights holding a 2-1 advantage in the match, UNF knotted the score with a win at No. 5. A 6-1, 7-5 triumph by Matias at No. 6 put the Knights back up, 3-2, before the Ospreys evened the score and eventually took the contest.
The Knights hit the road for a pair of matches in Tulsa, Okla. UCF takes on host Tulsa at 1 p.m. on Feb. 20 before facing TCU the following day at 10 a.m.
A 13-match homestand rounds out the regular season for UCF beginning on Feb. 26 against Mercer.
