HARTFORD, Conn. (UCFKnights.com) -- A first-half drought for the UCF women's basketball team helped No. 1 UConn gain a considerable edge that the Huskies comfortably rode to a 106-51 win at the XL Center on Wednesday night.

The Knights got off to a promising start, converting four of their first five shots from the floor. From there, they missed their next 14 attempts, and UConn took advantage with a 25-0 run.
UCF trailed 52-15 by halftime but regrouped with a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Huskies, 24-23. The Knights became just the second American Athletic Conference team this season to reach the 50-point mark against the three-time defending NCAA champion.
UCF junior Zykira Lewis led the team in points (20) and rebounds (6) while sophomore Aliyah Gregory and freshman Ashley Polacek contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Breanna Stewart led six Huskies in double figures with 21 points off an efficient 8-of-11 showing from the field.
