UCF's bench play came up big Wednesday night at USF, scoring 34 points and leading the Knights to a 64-54 victory. The win improves the Black & Gold to 4-1 in American Athletic Conference action and marks the first time UCF has swept the Bulls in a season series.

After falling behind 16-8 at the under 12 media timeout of the first half, the Knights (10-6, 4-1 AAC) looked to their bench to get them going, and the UCF reserves responded by leading a 21-7 run to end the half.
Shaheed Davis and Chance McSpadden gave the Black & Gold a spark off the bench, scoring a combined 14 points in the final 9:40 of the half and giving UCF a 29-23 lead at halftime.
In the second half, A.J. Davis took charge as he attacked the Bulls from all angles. The redshirt sophomore began the half draining a pair of three pointers, giving UCF a 12-point lead just 1:44 seconds into the half.
The redshirt sophomore finished the night with a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds, marking his second career double-double.
The Knights would extend their lead to 15 points before USF began chipping away and making it a four-point game with 3:16 remaining.
With the game on the line, the Davis duo stepped their game up, scoring the Knights final 12 points and closing out the sweep of the Bulls.
MAKING THE EASY ONES
- The Knights shot 78.1 percent from the charity stripe, making 25-of-32 free throws.
- A.J. Davis drained 12-of-14 free-throw attempts, while McSpadden went 7-for-8 from the line.
BENCH PLAYING BIG
- UCF's bench came up big, scoring 34 of the Black & Gold's 64 points, while USF tallied just 10 points from its reserves.
- S. Davis recorded 15 points off the bench, while McSpadden tallied 12.
- Justin McBride chipped in seven for the Knights.
NEXT UP
- UCF remains on the road as it travels to Tulsa to face the Golden Hurricane for the first time this season. The Knights only played Tulsa once last season and lost 56-54 at CFE Arena.
