ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The Knight concluded the UCF Quad Tournament on Monday with doubles matches vs. North Texas and singles contests against Rice. UCF wrapped up the three-day event producing seven singles and three doubles victories.

The sophomore pair of Emilia Granstrom and Monica Matias notched a 6-2 victory against the Mean Green on a chilly morning at the UCF Tennis Complex.
In singles action against the Owls, seniors Caroline Eberhart, Sofia Baptista and Granstrom each secured 6-4 victories in the first set, but ended up falling in three sets. Both Baptista and Granstrom had tightly-contested second frames that went into tiebreakers where the Knights were unable to prevail, 8-6 and 7-3, respectively. Mendell took the first 6-1, but ended up coming up short in the next two frames by close 6-4 scores.
UCF opens dual-match play on Saturday at home with a noon tilt against Troy at the UCF Tennis Complex.
