ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -- A lull in the second quarter was too much to come back from for the UCF women's basketball team on Sunday against St. John's.
The Red Storm extended their win streak to eight straight with a 70-42 win over the Knights at CFE Arena.

UCF was held scoreless for more than nine minutes as St. John's went on a 21-0 run spanning much of the second quarter that ultimately gave the Red Storm enough of an edge to ride it out until the end.
UCF redshirt freshman Nyala Shuler ended up with her first career double-double with a team- high 11 points and 10 rebounds. It marked the first time of her career that she led her team in scoring.
Redshirt junior Joslyn Massey came up big on the boards with a game-high 14 rebounds, matching her career high.
Nyala's Night
? Nyala Shuler's big performance made her the fifth Knight this season to record a double-double.
? Shuler set a career high in rebounds and netted a season high in points against St. John's.
? The Orlando native is averaging 5.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game and has started all but one game this year.
Whistle Blowers
? UCF's foul trouble allowed St. John's to take advantage at the free throw line.
? The Knights committed a season high 23 fouls.
? The Red Storm converted 26-of-33 from the line --- the most free throws made by a UCF opponent in two years.
