Two Knights Earn Wins At Clay Court Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF men's tennis team collected a pair of wins Saturday at the 2015 USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational hosted by Florida State.

Senior Jose Sangroniz found success in the Garnet quarterfinals. The No. 7 seed Sangroniz dropped the first set in his matchup, 4-6, against Michigan's Gabe Tishman before taking the next two, 6-4, 6-1. He advanced to the afternoon semifinals, but came up short against Pepperdine's Lautaro Pane, 6-1, 6-3.

Junior Reece Acree was also victorious in the consolation bracket over Troy's Andre Baldo, who was forced to retire due to an injury in the first set. Acree will take the courts tomorrow morning for the final day of clay court action.
