ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com)- Senior Jose Sangroniz played his way into the quarterfinals on day two of the 2015 Collegiate Clay Court Invitational hosted by Florida State.
The No. 7 seed Sangroniz took on Andrew Baldo of Troy in the round of 16 to claim a spot in the Garnet Singles quarterfinal, 7-5, 6-3. He will take the court tomorrow at 9 a.m. and face Michigan's Gabe Tishman.
In the consolation North Garnet bracket, junior Arjun Watane defeated Lucas Gonzalez of South Alabama in a tough three-setter, 2-6, 7-5, 12-10.
Junior Mariano Porter found success in the consolation West Gold bracket, defeating Nile Clark of Miami, 6-4, 6-4.
UCF continues action on the clay courts of ESPN Wide World of Sports on Saturday morning. Sunday's finale matches will be broadcast on ESPN3.
