The Knights held a 10-point lead early in the second half, but a 20-5 run by UNCG had UCF back on their heels, trailing 48-43 with 6:45 remaining in the game and forcing UCF to call a timeout.

To get the offense rolling again, head coach Donnie Jones looked towards junior Justin McBride to overpower the Spartans down low. The 6-foot-10 center would score on two of UCF's next three possessions to give the Knights a one-point lead with under five minutes remaining.

Momentum was flowing in the Knights' favor after a 6-0 run, but it was S. Davis who pushed the needle in UCF' favor after making an enormous block with 4:32 remaining, which resulted in a fast-break layup on the opposite end for UCF.

This time the Knights would not relinquish their lead but instead keep their foot on the pedal, resulting in a 22-5 run to close out the game. Henriquez tallied seven of his 13 points during that span, while McBride scored all eight of his during the run.
