FORT MYERS, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Junior Arjun Watane provided a highlight for the UCF men's tennis team on the final day of the FGCU Fall Invite on Sunday.

Watane earned his second singles victory of the weekend, defeating Arkansas' Jacob Herndon, 6-2, 6-4, in Gold Singles action.

We improved as a team this weekend, head coach Bobby Cashman said. This was a first-rate tournament with stout competition. Our boys battled and responded the best we could. We appreciate where we are but know we must continue to improve every day.

The Knights won six singles and one doubles match on the weekend. Sophomore Tyler Pate saw his bid for a third singles victory fall short as he dropped a close 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (3) decision to Arkansas' Austin Robles.

We are ready and excited for the Disney tournament in our backyard, Cashman said.

The Knights are back in action on Thursday, heading across town to the USTA Clay Court Invitational at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.
