GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - A pair of Knights, juniors Reece Acree and Inaki Espindola, advanced to the round of 32 with USTA/ITA Southeast Regional wins at the Ring Tennis Complex on Friday.

Acree claimed the first set over North Florida's Yannick Zuern, 6-5. Zuern took the second set, 7-5, but Acree's 7-5 victory in the third set advanced him to the round of 32. Espindola battled Florida Gulf Coast's Andres Alfonzo. After Espindola won the first set, 6-3, Alfonzo won the second set, 6-4. Espindola advanced with a 6-1 win in the third set.

The doubles tandem of Espindola and junior Chris Barrus was victorious over Kennesaw State's David Durham and Drew Wendel, 8-6, before losing a close one to Florida State's Jose Gracia and Jake Albo, 8-6.

The Gainesville regional is one of 12 hosts for the 2015 USTA/ITA Division I Men's Regional Championships. Match play will take place at the Ring Tennis Complex at Linder Stadium and admission is free.
