2015 Bedford Cup Central
FORT MYERS, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -- A pair of rain delays interrupted the opening day of the Bedford Cup, but the UCF men's tennis team was able to collect several victories on the first day of the fall season.
Juniors Mariano Porter, Inaki Espindola, Arjun Watane and Reece Acree all posted opening round wins. Sophomores Nico De Fraia and Tyler Pate each collected a victory in the round of 32. De Fraia earned a second victory on the day, defeating Bethune Cookman's Pablo Lopez in straight sets.
In doubles action, Espindola and junior Chris Barrus posted a 8-1 victory over Bethune-Cookman's Greg Almeida and Kevin Deligny.
The Knights are back in action for day two of the Bedford Cup on the FGCU campus on Saturday.
