TALLAHASSEEE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -- The UCF women's soccer team saw its five-match unbeaten streak halt on Thursday night with a 4-0 loss at No. 3 Florida State.

UCF keeper Vera Varis kept her team in the match with three saves in the first 30 minutes, but the Seminoles were able to capitalize in the 35th minute on a free kick near midfield. Carson Pickett sent a ball in to Megan Connolly, who headed it to the upper right to put FSU on the board.

After halftime, the defending national champions struck again early when Cheyna Williams dashed toward the net and was able to get a touch on the long ball sent into the right side.

Connolly added an insurance goal in the 58th minute when her free kick from 20 yards out hit the crossbar and ricocheted into the upper back of the net.

UCF committed a costly penalty in the box in the 70th minute, setting up senior Isabella Schmid with a penalty kick. She made good on the attempt and capped the match at 4-0.

The Knights were outshot 18-5, and although they had rallied in the second half in their past two contests, they weren't able to will a comeback again.
